"More penetrating than the average glossy..." Launched in 2012 by the Oxford Fashion Society, Industry has now broadened its horizons to include art writing, photography, and visual culture in all its forms. Making fashion playful again, Industry takes inspiration from such cross-disciplinary publications as AnOther, Re-edition, and Purple Magazine, acknowledging and embracing the magazine as an object in flux, available both on the intangible online and IRL.
Industry is also distributed to all Oxford colleges and is automatically added to full subscription packages.
As an annual publication, this requires a dedicated pair of Editors to collect and collate the photography, artwork and written work. They provide an insight into catwalks, cultural histories and even critiques of the impact of 'the industry' on our modern lives.
They also host various events throughout the year. These are usually more informal, but can also include club nights.
Their new website takes 'quirky' to a new level, with an ironic, postmodern aesthetic and new content being commissioned at industryoxford.com
